A stay in Maynardville

Decided against Memphis

Originally I had planned on heading west to Memphis after Nashville, but I heard from numerous people to avoid it. Someone called it the Detroit of Tennessee. I'm not that huge of an Elvis fan, so I circled back east and stopped outside of Knoxville for a couple nights to check it out there, then made it back to Asheville for New Years.

Asheville for NYE was fun. Went downtown and had some BBQ at Bear's & brewery hopped around. It wasn't as busy as I was expecting. New years day I had brunch at Biscuit Head in West Asheville. Today I made the voyage down through South Carolina and landed at a hipcamp site in Savannah. It was 79 degrees and sunny today when I got here. I can see myself staying here for a couple weeks with weather like this in January. Will have to see if stays that way.
