Chosa Campground

After finally leaving Texas, I landed at Chosa Campground in Whites City. It's a flat dirt lot on BLM property that's only 30 miles from Guadalupe Mountains National Park and 8 miles to Carlsbad Caverns National Park. I stayed for about a week.

Carlsbad Caverns National Park

I took the self-guided tour of Carlsbad Caverns, and walked down through the natural entrance. It descends 75 stories to the bottom on a long winding walkway with handrails. Every section of the cave you walk through had different & interesting formations. It ended in the big room, the largest cavern in the system, which then led to the elevator back up to the surface.

Roswell

I decided to head north to check out the UFO scene in Roswell. I met someone at Chosa who was also interested in seeing Roswell, so we decided to convoy it there and setup camp together on more BLM property outside the city. She lives in a converted school bus and has a dog too, so the pups were happy to roam around the site together while we hung out by the fire.
