Hydesville & Coleman State Park

Labor day in Colebrook was a great time. There was a horseshoe tournament, grilled venison sausages, pasta, and so much food. It was a large turnout to honor the long time host of the event (this was the 49th and final year) who passed away unexpectedly earlier this year. After spending the weekend at Chasing the Dream camp, I decided to stay close and setup at Coleman state park. It was very quiet there, maybe only 2 other campers.

I stayed 2 nights, waiting for the sun to come out and dry out the camper before packing up. I ran the generator for a few hours to charge up the batteries, did some grilling and relaxed. Through the night I could hear loons making calls that echoed across the lake. With the fog and clouds that settled in on the hill, it felt occult, but comfortable.

The sun finally came out Wednesday morning and warmed everything up, which makes it easier to break down the camper. I used the water spigot and hose to rinse off some of the mud, bugs and dirt that built up on the truck. It needs a real bath. The sky was clear and I could see the landscapes around me, making a much more enjoyable ride out.
