Waynesboro North 340 Campground
I got off the highway near Harrisonburg and planned to stay at a KOA, but didn't make the deadline for a same day reservation, so I found a campground a little further south in Waynesboro instead. I got setup in a site for the night, but moved to one with better Starlink access the next day.

I took the dogs for a walk around the campground and found out there was a horse pasture right next to it.

Mid-week I explored a walking trail in downtown Waynesboro across the river from a large former DuPont plant that invented spandex.

Blue Ridge Tunnel Trail
The rest of the week was low key, and I took Friday off to check out the Blue Ridge Tunnel trail.

The tunnel was constructed between 1849-1859 mainly by Irish immigrants and was the longest tunnel in North America at that time.

I walked about a mile to get to the tunnel entrance, then put on my headlamp and continued in.

About a quarter mile into the tunnel, I suddenly became really uncomfortable and didn't want to continue all the way through. Something just felt off and I decided to turn around.
On the way back out, I took another picture that happened to capture an orb.

On the walk back out, I found a sign on the side of the trail I had missed on the way in.

I got back to the truck and set the the GPS for the Blue Ridge Parkway northern terminus.
